I am looking for hypoallergenic earring posts. My sister has had success with Rhodium plated and platinum plated earrings. Can you recommend anything for me?

If the earring form must be post or stud style, consider sterling silver earring posts. Sterling silver has high level of pure silver in the metal alloy; a combination of 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper. If you can wear sterling silver, you can also consider vermeil earstuds, which are sterling silver plated with gold.

A more cost-effective option is sterling silver-filled earstuds, which have a thick layer of sterling silver wrapped around a core metal.

Other hypoallergenic alternatives for post-style earring findings include

If the earrings do not have to be post or stud style, you can try fine silver earring components, which are hook style due to the relative softness of the metal.

Anodized niobium ear wires are also hypoallergenic, plus they come in several designer colors that match niobium wire-wrapping wire, jump rings, head pins and eye pins, so you can coordinate your jewelry designs.

And finally, there are also a range of fishhook and clip-on earring styles in clear or black acrylic.
